Swoon Unit / I Licked A Toad And I Liked It, Collagism

ABOUT THE PIECE

Swoon Unit / I licked a toad and I liked it is a brand new collaged print from Collagism. Undoubtedly one of the strangest things people have done to elicit a recreational high is to lick a toad — in particular, the cane toad which produces the chemical 5-methoxy-N, N-dimethyltryptamine which makes the world melt into a psychedelic swirl of bliss. Such feelings and visions can be similar to when we experience the dizzying heights of love in a place called Swoontown. The piece titled Swoon Unit (after Frank Zappa's kid Moon Unit), was made in part whilst recently on an artist residency at Chinatown Soup NYC, smitten, full to the brim with love and high on adrenaline! During that period of the residency I was chronically ill yet was soldiering on committed to my project - however, things escalated health wise and I ended up in the hospital back in London and bedridden for 6 weeks and recovering for 3 months, undoubtedly this has changed my life forever looking back at the whole surreal experience has me wondering did I lick a toad and did I like it?
